Pilgrimage to the Irises

Photo by Nhu Nguyan, March 2010

March is always a good time to visit Point Reyes National Seashore, some 20 miles north of San Francisco. In an article in The Bulb Garden (newsletter of the Pacific Bulb Society, Vol. 9, no. 2, 2010), naturalist-photographer Nhu Nguyan describes his feelings at finding entire fields of Douglas iris in full bloom on the hillsides above Limantour Beach.

The five photographs here are others that Nhu took that day, during his "pilgrimage to the irises".
