When you order seeds, other materials, or start/extend membership via PayPal, please send a separate message to the appropriate email address (seedex@pacificcoastiris.org , orders@pacificcoastiris.org ), and attach the pdf of your order––this is PayPal's transaction form.
With your email message and a copy of your order, we will find the transaction later, and meanwhile we can fill it, long before the transaction appears on PayPal.
This is particularly important for international members, whose orders are more likely to go astray within PayPal.
This solves two problems for us.
1. More often than we like, PayPal does not send an automatic confirmation message to SPCNI; about 20% of all orders do not generate the automatic message. This happens to both international and US orders.
2. In some cases the transaction record first appears in the log more than 90 days later. We check our PayPal transaction records regularly, but because of this long delay in posting for some transactions, we cannot rely on PayPal's transaction logs from week to week, or even month to month, to see all current orders. This second problem appears to impact international orders more often than US orders.
If you have not received an acknowledgement via email within 72 hours, please send a message again. The Secretary and Seed Chair normally respond within one day to messages. So, if you do not get a quick response, resend your original message until you get confirmation.
